Puerto Vallarta

We just got back from our incredible vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and it was amazing! We spent a whole week there with my family. I'm sorry this is so long! but really I just wanted to write all this more as a journal so that we could remember all the details that could be forgotten. Hope you like it!

This is what our agenda looked like everyday!

Tuesday June 3rd:
wake up and head to airport to catch flight by seven in SLC. Arrived to Puerto Vallarta airport where we were chased down my many services and taxis to take us to our hotel
Arrived to the CASAMAGNA MARRIOTT. Yes we were all shocked at how gorgeous it was! The picture doesn't even show it all, it doesn't do justice!

We got settled in our rooms, changed straight into our swimsuits and headed down to get some food before we hit the pool/beach. Spent the rest of the night lounging at the pool and got a taste of Mexico's finest food and their to die for Guacamole! We went into town to eat at a restaurant called 'Pi Pi's'. Hispanic boys rushed to open our taxi door as soon as we pulled in. I think the experience was better then the food, which is hard to beat. The make fresh guacamole right in front of you, which I think is probably the best I have ever tasted! We all ordered Virgin Margaritas which when they came back were huge. Luckily Seth and I were smart enough to share. I took a sip, was a little shocked that it didn't taste how I planned and Seth experienced the same reaction. To our surprise my dad informed us after all of us had already started in on our drinks that they definitely were made with Tequila! It didn't take us long to send them back and get our Non Alcoholic ones! We all laughed when we saw there slogan, " Don't drink the water, Drink the Margaritas!" They brought hats to take pictures and as we were headed out they had a band playing true Mexican music. What a great start to our vacation!


Wednesday
my dad got some hit to go look at condos down at "Nueve Vallarta" known as the new Vallarta. Kyler, Haley, Madison, Seth, and I all decided to go tag along. Man was it worth it, the pool and the beach was spectacular! We got a 150$ to spend at the pool where we ordered pina coladas, nachos, fries and everything else you can imagine. Nothing beats sun tanning next to the pool and drinking your 'Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri'. Seth and Ky went boogy boarding, Madison got her hair braided and Hay and I just lounged on the hammocks that were set up on the beach.


Thursday
each morning we all experienced the breakfast of a lifetime! It was a buffet that included a waffle bar, omelet/egg bar, quesadilla bar, smoothie bar, fresh fruit, a complete menu to choose from, and much much more! Seth took advantage of all the food, I think this may have been one of his favorite parts! lol

we spent the rest of the day in the sun, playing in the pool! Of course we ordered plenty of those tasty drinks, and ate our lunch by the pool.
That night the Celtics were playing in the championship, Seth of course is obsessed and to top off his vacation they had a sports bar in the hotel where they played the game on huge screen T.Vs all around. We ate dinner there, where surprising it was extremely good. To top off the night, they won!

Friday
we went into town where we spent most of the day going around to all the shops. We stopped at the Flea Market and Seth had a blast bargaining with the sellers. He found a bunch of things he wanted to get. It was amazing how hot and humid it was down there. It probably wasn't the best idea to go shopping in closed off areas like that in the dead heat of the day, but we still managed to have a great time!

Saturday
we all headed off on boat to the beach Las Caletas. One of the prettiest beaches in Mexico. The day started off rough. Seth was sick leaving the hotel, and on the boat ride he threw up! I felt so bad for him, but afterwards he felt much better. The beach was beautiful. We got to snorkel, kayak, and after lunch we got to hold a monkey, parrot, and an owl! We saw all sorts of insects while we were there. The whole atmosphere of it was awesome though. By the end of the day blue jellyfish had made their way to the shore and a lady got stung so bad she had to go by boat to the hospital. By that time we decided not to get back in the water. .haha. the ride home was beautiful it was clear enough that we could see everything!

Sunday
we went back into town for one more stop at Pi Pi's and one more look around at all the shops! We got home just in time to watch the Celtics game again. This time the whole family joined us, Seth for once wasn't the only one cheering against LA in Champions. We stayed long enough to see them win there second game!

Monday
we woke up and had to pack. We were all sad we were leaving, too bad we couldn't stay a whole other week! We headed to the airport pretty early to be sure we didn't miss our flight and we didn't get stuck in Mexico! We made it home around 9:00 p.m. We were all glad to be home even though we'll miss the laid back life in Mexico.
